LOCAL LEADERS PROPOSE JOINT PROJECTS TO BOOST INVESTMENT IN SOUTHWEST SERBIA

Political and civil society representatives from Serbia’s Sandzak region and few neighboring municipalities, members of the CIG-organized Regional Forum, together with representatives of investors and foreign donor community in Serbia, discuss how to attract investments in the region and key obstacles to that. Among others, they recommend for the local municipalities to be more proactive, business friendly, find new ways of helping investors, and establish joint inter-municipal projects that would boost the economic perspective of the region. Two proposals for cooperation were accepted during the session: development of the IT sector in the region and establishment of a agricultural cluster of four western municipalities.
