SERBIA’S EU ACCESSION NEGOTIATIONS AND YOUTH EMPLOYMENT IN THE REGION

Nova Varos, Serbia. December 2016. On December 3, 2016, CIG organized in Nova Varoš, a municipality in Serbia’s Southwest, a new session of the Regional Forum of Southwestern Serbia/Sandzak. The session was the sixth roundtable of the Forum devoted to the process of the European integration of Serbia. This time, the topic was the Chapter 19 of Serbia’s EU accession negotiations Social Policy and Employment. The aim of the roundtable was to introduce the process of preparing for the negotiations on Chapter 19 to the Forum members, as well as discuss the broader significance of the policies related to youth employment in Serbia and the region of Southwest Serbia/Sandzak. Chapter 19 offers an opportunity for rethinking approaches and policies both at central and at the municipal level. Below is a Serbian-language report from the meeting.
