Ahead of the general elections scheduled for October 2026, CIG convened senior officials of major political parties in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) on April 17, 2026, in Jahorina near Sarajevo. Held under the Chatham House Rule, the meeting focused on identifying priorities and formulating recommendations for the incoming authorities (primarily at the state level, but also across other levels of government) to advance BiH’s European integration agenda following the elections. Participants developed an initial set of recommendations aimed at accelerating the country’s EU integration process after the formation of new authorities at the state and other levels in the aftermath of the October elections. These recommendations reflect a shared set of core principles and, in line with the understanding reached among participants, will be further refined and expanded at a follow-up meeting scheduled for the end of June 2026.
